Dear Friends of Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses,

The holidays are here, and apparently winter has decided this year to arrive on time and in full force.  With the arrival of the cold winter weather and snow, we have closed Naperbrook Golf Course for the season, along with the driving ranges at both courses.  Both golf shops will be open this week through Friday, December 23, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, with golf merchandise, gift cards and passes for golf and lessons available for your last-minute holiday shopping.  The golf shops will then close for the holiday season December 24 – January 2, re-opening on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  Staff will keep an eye on the weather this winter, and if conditions provide the opportunity to open a course or driving range, we will make sure to provide you with an email update.  We’ll also have all information regarding course status and possible opening online at golfnaperville.org

We truly appreciate your continued patronage this past year, and hope you enjoyed your season.  We know you have many choices when it comes to golf, so our goal is to encourage golfer loyalty by offering competitive rates and an outstanding experience each time you play.  The 2022 season was extremely busy for our courses, not only with rounds, but also with new updates and improvements occurring at both Springbrook and Naperbrook. The newly renovated practice area at Naperbrook opened Memorial Day weekend, with larger and improved green and tee surfaces providing plenty of usable space for practice.  At Springbrook, the eagerly awaited renovation of the course commenced August 1, resulting in the closing of the 18-hole golf course for the remainder of the season.  The renovation included new bunkers, tees, paths and bridges, along with several other changes to help improve the playability for all golfers and update to the infrastructure of the course.  We are happy to report the work was completed on time and the project stayed within budget.  We are looking forward to a hopefully warm spring to allow the newly-seeded turf areas to mature.  Depending on the weather, we are forecasting the reopening of Springbrook to occur in late spring or early summer.  We will provide updates on progress, including dates for the reopening on our website, and through periodic emails.  If you haven’t already seen some of the changes at Springbrook, check out our renovation blog, which includes details of the updates and pictures of the renovation work.

In 2023, we have golf course updates scheduled at Naperbrook, with construction beginning on a new #18 green for the course.  This work, which will not require any course closure or impact the play on the course, will consist of the development of a new green complex for the 18th hole, situated directly behind the #11 green.  Once the new green is completed and ready for play, the new green will be used for the 18th hole, allowing the current #18 green to eventually be updated and used for a chipping and bunker practice area.  That change is scheduled for 2024.

We understand the work at both courses, specifically the closing of Springbrook, has significantly impacted our daily fee and member play, along with many of our leagues, permanent tee times, and tournament schedules.  We appreciated your patience while we completed this renovation, and hope that you are as excited as we are to see the new and improved Springbrook Golf Course in 2023.  Spring will be here soon, and we expect the opening of Naperbrook to occur sometime in March. Once Springbrook re-opens later in the season, we will be able to return to a normal schedule at both courses, including league play, permanent tee times, and tournaments.  Expect more information regarding those programs to be available early next year.

We look forward to seeing you back on the courses in the spring! Again, we thank you for your continued patronage. On behalf of the entire staff at Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday season – and a happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Kevin Carlson, Director of Golf
