Naperville Park District invites the community to Naperbrook Golf Course to celebrate the official grand opening and dedication of the Marie Todd Practice Facility on Wednesday, September 18 at 5:00 p.m. The new facility is named after former Park Board commissioner, Marie Todd, to honor her commitment to the community and recognize her affinity for and support of the game of golf.
Marie Todd served as a Park Board commissioner for 18 years. Her tenure began in 2005, and she served four consecutive terms with her final term ending in May 2023. Marie was elected Park Board President from 2006-2007 and again from 2021-2022. She also served as Vice President from 2008-2009. In April 2023, the Park Board of Commissioners approved naming Naperbrook’s practice area the “Marie Todd Practice Facility” in recognition of her impactful service and volunteerism as a park board member.
“Marie Todd served the Naperville Park District and the community with dedication for nearly two decades,” said Executive Director Brad Wilson. “She was an avid supporter of expanding opportunities for women and youth golfers, in particular, and an integral part in the development of popular, outstanding facilities, such as Knoch Knolls Nature Center and Fort Hill Activity Center. We greatly appreciate her public service and influence in helping shape opportunities for recreation in our community.”
The dedication event at Naperbrook will begin with comments from Park Board president Mary Gibson, followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting and light refreshments.
